GD - Create your own cereal box Project

In my advanced Graphic Design class, we were challenged to create a cereal box. My partner and I decided to go with a vampire theme. Right off the bat we had amazing ideas, inspiration and a color theme set. This project was extremely fun, creative and eye-opening. We took inspiration from my ow personal fashion style, a 90s cartoon, and characters from movies. I can proudly say that a lot of thought was carefully put into this project. Personally, I think we could have done a better job with more time. For the time we had though, I think we did an outstanding job. We created our own character, graphics, and everything. I adore how often I get to use my creativity in my GD class. Click on the button below to see more about the process of this project.

GD - Sketchbook Cover Project

The goal of this project was to create a personalized cover that inspires you to create. I created a cover that also reflected my unique aesthetic. By incorporating pictures of of celebrity crushes and idols, along with graphics and doodles from Pinterest, I created a collage that is truly one-of-a-kind. It is always inspiring to see things that I love before I start my creative process. I find it extremely important to incorporate things you adore into your daily life! At the beginning of this project, I knew I wanted to include things that make me smile. I made a folder of pictures, graphics, and my ideas. Next time I have the oppurtunity to work on a project like this I want to challenge myself to create my own graphics and doodles. I feel like that would really bring the project together. In the end, I really enjoyed this project!

Spotlight Project

GD - "Stop n' Shop"  Make your own Company Project

This is a huge project we work on annually in my graphic design class. The entire concept is to create a company, make designs, put those designs on products, sell them in person, organize the orders, make the orders, and then finally deliver the orders. A lot of thought, creativity, and precision goes into this project. The group requires four people, creativity, efficiency, effort, and an eye for design. My role of this project was the assistant leader. I took part in a bit of everything; proposing our company ideas to our instructor, making the logo and slogan, creating preset designs, marketing our products, making prototypes, photographing our final designs on products, organizing customer information, creating proofs, communicating to customers, engraving or printing designs onto products, assembling boxes for packaging, etc. I also took part in creating the order form, thank you notes, stickers, proofs, look-book, and more. In the projects gallery I have included the work, designs, products and more of two different companies I took part in creating. I was in two different companies, one each year. Personally, I would say that the companies in comparison are extremely different from each other. The first company I was in had more orders, profit and more of an experience. Obviously since it was my first time ever doing this project. In conclusion, I really have gained so much experience from these company-making projects. It was an extreme amount of fun, hard-work, efficiency and happiness in the end.

GD - Personality Company Project

This project was a very interesting one. We were challenged to make a logo based on our personality type. In order to do this we had to take a personality type test. I ended up with INFJ-T, also known as the "Counselor" or "Advocate." We were required to create a logo incorporating the letters of the personality type we were given, but in a creative and almost "hidden" way. One of the words used to describe my personality type had to be used in the company name too. The logo was required to represent us, something we're passionate about, and our personality type. I struggled with this project at first, and could have done better. In my opinion, what matters is what I learned from this project. It definitely opened my eyes more to the creative world of graphic design.

AP&D - Sumi-E Ink Paintings

This project was one of my absolute favorites. This was the first time I had ever experimented or even used ink. I feel like I definitely did an outstanding job. I mainly focused on a stippling affect and it suits my art style well. I learned so much from this project, and am so proud I went into it with an open mind. I learned a new medium, how to create shadow and value using the new medium, and a new perspective on art. I will be creating more art like this in the future. I spent a lot of time adding every detail, every dot and it lead to a masterpiece. This project helped me realize just how much I adore art.

GD - Sports Poster Project

This project had us pick an athlete and make a poster of them using photoshop. It mainly focused on how we chose to layout the graphics and images we chose, the usage of photoshop brushes and skills, and creativity. I chose Pelé because he was an inspiration to my family and I. Seeing how he came from almost nothing really inspired me. I decided to use his name and font in the poster, Brazil colors, and some graphics. In the end they all fit together nicely. looking back I definitely could have changed a few things, added more graphics, and maybe even a quote. I'm proud of myself for doing this project regardless. I honestly really loved this project.

GD - Make your own Hot Sauce Project

For this project my partner and I had to create a hot sauce label based on another class's proposal and idea. Basically we brought their proposal to life. A lot of thought and creativity went into this project.  I also got to learn about another culture and got more design experience for more of an audience. I had so much fun working on this project. It was really intriguing and exciting to make someone elses' idea come alive. We also got to print out our label as a sticker and stuck it onto a hot sauce bottle! We celebrated by having a taco and hot sauce party.

A1 - Hand Sculpture Project

This was also an eye-opening project. This is by far the most time consuming and effort filled creation I have ever made.  I made this sculpture with my bare hands- literally, without any experience in sculptures. Lots of tape, hot-glue, cardboard, and paint were used for this project. Many hours of tape stuck to my hand were expressed, and so were many hours of critiquing every detail. This project was randomly assigned to me but I feel very proud of myself for pushing through and making this project a fun and creative one. I feel extremely accomplished, happy, and more experienced after making this. I also submitted it to the Quinlan Visual Arts center, where lots of people saw my sculpture.

A1 - Oil Pastel Expression Drawing

This was a project I created for my Art 1 class. We were encouraged to use bright colors, different expressions, and creativity. I think I did a good job at expressing all of those aspects. I love the composition, layout and colors of this piece. It pleases my eye and honestly just makes me smile. We were required to use oil pastels, a medium I love but don't use that often. I definitely want to use it more often! This project was really fun to create.

AP&D Darth Maul Portrait

This project scared me at first, but ended up making me really proud! It was my first time using a white colored pencil on black paper. We were required to use a 1x1 inch grid to complete this drawing. We also were encouraged to create this project on a monster, villain or "bad guy," and since I love Star Wars I decided to do Darth Maul! I studied my reference more than I actually drew, which was very surprising! I definitely learned so much from this and I'm excited to make more art like this! The method we were required to use was very efficient and nice to use!!
